Biblical preaching and teaching is central to our worship together. PBC leaders highly regard the calling to “preach the Word”. We are held accountable before God for our stewardship of it (James 3:1). We hold the expository method as the purest way to preach the word of God (2 Tim. 2:15).
Most Sunday's, the teaching heard is expository. But this does not mean topical messages are wrong - many times they are needed. Still, each Biblical text taught in original context and meaning.
Expository preaching is the proclamation of the central meaning of a passage of Scripture, as it was intended by the original author to his original audience, in a plain, understandable, and relevant way for present-day hearers.
